Mr. Farr

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he has now completed his consideration of the report of the Al/Ml link feasibility study; and, in particular, if he is now able to announce a definite timetable for the construction of the Market Harborough bypass.

Further work on the study is now being undertaken and should be completed shortly. If this shows that a link between the Ml and Al appears to be justified a public participation exercise on the alternatives will be held later this year. A decision on a bypass of Market Harborough must await the final outcome of the link road investigations.
