HC Deb 10 June 1974 vol 874 cc405-6W
Dr. Winstanley

asked the Secretary of State for Industry if, in the light of current needs, he will exercise the power vested in him under Section 11(4) of the Post Office Act 1969, and transferred to him under Article 2 of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications Dissolution Order 1974, and instruct the Post Office to review the current charge of £1,000 per mile per annum made for the rent of microwave links for closed circuit television.

Mr. Gregor Mackenzie

No. My power under Section 11(4) of the Post Office Act 1969 is exercisable only if it appears to me that the Post Office is showing undue preference or undue discrimination.
