HC Deb 10 June 1974 vol 874 c462W
Mr. Ronald Brown

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science how many colleges of education make provision for their students to study the methodology of teaching reading to children beyond the infant stage; and how many hours in the syllabus are allocated for this purpose.

Mr. Gerry Fowler

Colleges of education include study of the teaching of reading in their initial training courses for teachers of children of all ages. I regret that the other information is not available.
