§ Mr.Staintonasked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will ensure that the closure of the Master Radar Station and School of Fighter Control at RAF Bawdsey is phased to defer redundancies of most civilian employees until the end of 1974 and that appropriate efforts are made to find work for redundant personnel.
§ Mr. JohnIt has been possible to defer the redundancy of most civilians employed at RAF Bawdsey until during the last quarter of 1974. I cannot, however, guarantee that their services will be required until the end of the year. Every effort is being made to find alternative work for those concerned.
