HC Deb 10 June 1974 vol 874 c481W
Mr. Michael Latham

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether she will list the new health centres, or improvements to or extensions of existing ones, in the county of Leicestershire for which she is prepared to grant loan sanction in the current financial year; and what is the total sum authorised for this purpose.

Dr. Owen

I have approved exten-tions to the health centre at Syston in 1974–75 within a cost limit of £19,000. I am still considering for a start in 1974–75 health centre schemes at Loughborough and Springfield Road at estimated costs of £476,000 and £112,000 respectively.

Mr. Michael Latham

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether she will list the new health centres, or improvements to or extensions of existing ones, in the county of Leicestershire for which loan sanction was given in the financial year 1973-74, indicating on which of these work commenced prior to the December 1973 expenditure cuts, and which were deferred following these cuts.

Dr. Owen

In 1973–74 loan sanction was given for a health centre at Saffron Lane, Leicester; work commenced on 6th May 1974. No other schemes in the county of Leicestershire received loan sanction approval in that year.
