asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what consultations have taken place between Her Majesty's Government and representatives of the Association of British Pharmaceutical Industries in connection with the renegotiation of United Kingdom membership of the European Community; and if she will make a statement.

My Department consults the Association of British Pharmaceutical Industries in connection with the draft European Economic Community directives concerned with the manufacture of pharmaceutical products.

As regards the wider question of the renegotiation of the United Kingdom terms of entry into the European Economic Community, the Government's intentions were set out in the statements made by my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs in the Council of to hospital waiting times given in columns 223 and 224 of the OFFICIAL REPORT, 21st October 1969.
