asked the Secretary of State for Trade what was the total value of armaments exports in the past year; and who were the major recipients.

Mr. Shore

It is provisionally estimated that the value of defence equipment exports for the financial year 1973–74 amounted to some £400 million. It has been the policy of successive Governments not to reveal information on the supply of arms to individual countries.
