HC Deb 03 June 1974 vol 874 cc385-6W
Mr. Warren

asked the Secretary of State for Trade whether he proposes to pay compensation to the British companies subjected to the bans by Her Majesty's Government on the export of defence goods and services; and what is his estimate of the cost of any such compensation.

Mr. Shore

I assume that the hon. Member is referring to the revocation of the export licence granted to Westland in respect of Wasp helicopters for export to South Africa announced by my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister on 21st May 1974. I do not propose to pay compensation in respect of the revocation of this export licence.
