§ Mr. Gerry FowlerThis is a matter on which my Department and that of my right hon. Friend, the Secretary of State for the Environment, are in close touch and considerable expansion in provision for education and training of planning officers is already taking place. The Social Science Research Council has commissioned a report on manpower requirements for physical planning which should help to identify any further needs on the part of local authorities who are the main employers. I understand that the report will be available shortly.
