HC Deb 30 July 1974 vol 878 c109W
3. Mr. Trotter

asked the Secretary of State for Defence whether he is satisfied with the arrangements for the defence of British merchant ships in the Indian Ocean and South Atlantic.

Mr. Mason

The need for adequate measures to protect British shipping is being taken fully into account in the general review of defence commitments and capabilities. I would not wish to prejudge its outcome.
