asked the Secretary of State for Industry whether he has studied the proposals of the EEC Commission for a Community multi-annual research programme; and whether this is in accordance with his policy for research.

Mr. Meacher

The proposals of the EEC Commission referred to are presumably those put forward recently for revisions to selected parts of the multi-annual programme which was approved in 1973. These proposals are under study; it is thought that the Commission may have new proposals to put forward in the autumn.
