§ Mr. ArmstrongMy Department does not collect regular information of this kind. A survey carried out in 1962 indicated that some 7,000 primary and 375 secondary schools in England and Wales with buildings constructed before 1875 were still in use at that time. A significant number of these have been taken out of use since then, but it is not known how many.
