§ 30. Mr. Grimondasked the Secretary of State for Prices and Consumer Protection if she will take steps to discourage unnecessary packaging; and if she will consider introducing legislation to ensure that, when the package accounts for more than a certain percentage of the sale price of the article, this should be stated, especially in relation to soft goods and clothing.
Mr. Alan WilliamsI share the public concern that unnecessary packaging should be discouraged. I am keeping a careful watch on this question, and I shall bear the right hon. Gentleman's suggestion in mind.
