HC Deb 29 July 1974 vol 878 c84W
Mrs. Knight

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what action he is taking on behalf of the six British citizens held in Malawi without charge or trial for an indefinite period.

Mr. Money

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what representations he has made, and what action Her Majesty's Government have taken, with regard to the six United Kingdom citizens detained for indefinite detention without charge or trial under local law by the Malawi Government.

Mr. Ennals

The High Commission in Blantyre continues to press that United Kingdom citizens held under the provisions of the Malawi law in which there is no requirement for trial should nevertheless be charged and brought to trial quickly if there are charges to be answered, or else that they should quickly be released.
