asked the Secretary of State for Wales what estimates have been made of the effect on the livestock sectors of Welsh agriculture of the recent agreements arrived at in Brussels.

My right hon. Friend takes full account of Welsh interests in formulating our policy for the livestock sectors. It is evident that the recent agreement in Brussels will give substantial support, but it is too soon to make a realistic assessment of its effect on Welsh production.
