§ 23. Mr. Redmondasked the Secretary of State for Industry what plans he has designed to ensure that the United Kingdom industry obtains maximum benefit from the European Regional Fund.
§ Mr. HefferThe European Regional Development Fund has still to be established. In any negotiations about it the British Government will take fully into account the interests of United Kingdom industry.
§ 26. Mr. Trotterasked the Secretary of State for Industry whether his Department is preparing a list of projects for submission in due course to the EEC with a view to obtaining aid from the regional fund.
§ Mr. HefferNo. This would be premature until broad agreement has been reached on how such a fund would work. As the House is aware, the Government are engaged in renegotiating the terms of entry into the EEC.
