§ Mr. Adam Butlerasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what is his policy in regard to expenditure on colleges of further education, polytechnics, teaching facilities and residential accommodation; in what order of priority he puts these four objectives, and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Gerry FowlerThe level and distribution of current expenditure on higher and further education in the public sector is determined by individual local education authorities. The higher and further education building projects selected to start in 1974–75 were chosen in the light of individual urgency and do not reflect any order of priority amongst objectives, which can only show through over a much longer period.
