asked Her Majesty's Government:
What are their proposals for the future of the Public Trustee Office, having regard to the recommendations made in the Report of the Committee of Inquiry (Cmnd. 4913) that the Office should be run down.

THE LORD CHANCELLOR
The Government consider that the Public Trustee performs a valuable public service and they do not propose to take any action on the recommendations of the Hutton Committee.
