The Royal Air Force carries out training flights within three categories—in the flying training organisation, at operational conversion units of specific aircraft types, and in operational squadrons. It would not be possible, without disproportionate effort, to provide the information required in respect of any of these categories prior to the financial year 1970–71 or of training flights by operational aircraft since then.
