§ Mr. D. E. Thomasasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what moneys Great Britain is due to receive from the EEC Social Fund during the current period for retraining; and what proportion of this is to be spent in Wales.
§ Mr. John FraserI have been asked to reply.
The United Kingdom has submitted applications totalling about £23.3 million in respect of expenditure in 1974 for schemes of training in assisted areas in Great Britain. It is understood that the Commission has so far approved grants totalling about £8 million in respect of these applications. Rather more than 13 per cent. of Great Britain's total applications for assistance for training related to Wales.
