asked the Secretary of State for Defence whether, in view of the success of the manoeuvre undertaken by the Army in Cyprus, which resulted in the rescue of several thousand United Kingdom citizens from Nicosia, he will continue on the present basis an overseas presence by British forces; and if he will take this into account in his review of defence expenditure.
