Mr. Clemitson

asked the Secretary of State for Trade if he will publish figures of the average number of passengers carried per aircraft movement for each of the four London airports—Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted and Luton—for the past year.

As stated in Table 6 of Appendix 2 of the British Airport Authority's Annual Report 1973–74, the average number of terminal passengers per passenger aircraft at the authority's London airports in 1973–74 was as follows:

Heathrow	84.4
Gatwick	80.3
Stansted	76.4

It is estimated that the comparable figure for Luton in 1973 was 107.
