(2) what is the acreage and estimated value of land owned by National Health Service hospitals in England and Wales but not used for purposes directly connected with the function of the hospitals;
(3) what is the acreage and estimated value of all land owned by subnormality and psychiatric hospitals in England and Wales;
(4) what is the acreage and estimated value of land owned by subnormality and psychiatric hospitals in England and Wales but not used for purposes directly connected with the function of the hospitals.
§ Dr. OwenAt 31st March 1974, 56,500 acres of National Health Service hospital land were vested in my right hon. Friend or my right hon. and learned Friend the Secretary of State for Wales, of which 2,900 acres had been declared surplus to the needs of the service and were on offer for disposal. Information about other land which is not used for purposes directly connected with hospital services is not readily available. About two-thirds of the land held and almost three-quarters of that declare surplus was at mental illness or mental handicap hospitals. National Health Service properties are 555W not normally valued except when the district valuer is actively negotiating a disposal.
