HC Deb 25 July 1974 vol 877 c520W
Mr. Woof

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will give the latest figures showing the reduction of the national dairy herd due to under-feeding; what plans he has to reverse this process; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Bishop

The size of the dairy herd in the United Kingdom in March 1974 was 3,432,000 head, a reduction of 0.8 per cent. from the March 1973 level. I would refer to my right hon. Friend's statement on milk in the debate on agriculture on 26th June.
