asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will make a statement on the plans at present approved and under consideration by him for providing improved road communications from east to west through west Essex.

Schemes are in preparation for the M16 sections of the London Outer Orbital Road between A10 and A12. There are also a number of principal road schemes in preparation and it will be for Essex County Council to consider these for inclusion in its transport policies and programme.
