Stocks of the United Kingdom Intervention Board for Agricultural Produce are held in commercial stores. Storekeepers are required to take all appropriate steps to prevent deterioration, including correct handling techniques and storage at appropriate temperatures. Produce may be tested for keeping quality before acceptance into intervention and while in store; packaging requirements are prescribed in EEC regulations. Rates paid for storage is commercial information which cannot be disclosed.
