Dr. Owen

Returns of the number of persons vaccinated are made annually by area health authorities and those for 1974 are not yet available. In 1973, 1,350,891 children under 16 in England received polio vaccinations. The cost of different types of vaccination is not recorded separately.

Reminders and follow-up by health staff and school medical officers help to encourage those who do not respond to initial invitations.
