HC Deb 23 July 1974 vol 877 c434W
Mr. Cordle

asked the Attorney-General whether, in view of recent criticism made in the courts of the scope and operation of the Matrimonial Homes Act 1967, he will ask the Law Commission to consider the position and recommend appropriate amending legislation.

The Solicitor-General

The Law Commission is already considering the scope and operation of the Matrimonial Homes Act 1967 as part of its study of the law on family property. The commission's consultations are now complete and a report is being prepared. The Finer Committee's recommendations on this subject will be considered in conjunction with that report.
