HC Deb 23 July 1974 vol 877 cc404-5W
34. Mr. McCrindle

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what has been the trend in the number of A-level entries and passes over the past five years.

Mr. Armstrong

The answer is as follows:

Both sides agreed to adjourn and to meet again at a later date.

48. Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science why he will not agree to the publication of the letter which he received from the Director of Education of the London borough of Newham sent to him under date of 3rd July on London weighting, together with the reply which he has sent to this communication, in view of the fact that the director has no objection.

Mr. Prentice

It is not my practice to publish correspondence addressed to me. I have no objection if the director wishes to publish his letter and my reply, which was to the effect that London weighting for teachers is a matter for negotiation in the Burnham Committees.
