HC Deb 22 July 1974 vol 877 c321W
Mr. David Howell

asked the Secretary of State for Defence how many pensioners have received Army Form D492 warning them that they are selected for recall following the winding-up of the Army General Reserve.

Mr. William Rodgers

In 1973 about 400 Army pensioners, who were men broadly in the 40–45 age group, were sent Army Form D492 to warn them that they had been selected for immediate recall on mobilisation. This year, since the Army General Reserve is no longer available, approximately 1,800 pensioners have been sent these forms.
