§ Mr. Heffer15,173 applications for regional development grants under Part I of the Industry Act have been received in respect of investment in Scotland against which £47 million has been paid.
Apart from assistance to Govan Shipbuilders, 637 applications for regional selective assistance under Section 7 of the Industry Act have been received. Offers of assistance totalling £7.7 million in loans and £12 million in grants have been made. The estimated additional employment associated with these offers is 24,000.
