HC Deb 18 July 1974 vol 877 c250W
Mr. Newens

asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many Ugandan Asians who entered Great Britain following expulsion from Uganda are (a) now in full-time work and (b) registered as unemployed.

Mr. John Fraser

On 30th June 1974, 497 Ugandan Asian refugees were registered as unemployed. Information is not available about the number of refugees in full-time work but it is estimated that over 90 per cent. of those seeking employment now have jobs.
