HC Deb 18 July 1974 vol 877 c212W
22. Mr. Dempsey

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what further action he has taken to discourage young persons from sniffing toxic glue, in view of the health hazard involved; and if he will make a statement.

Dr. Summerskill

We are inquiring into the possibility of an additive which would discourage this practice, and are in touch with the Department of Health and Social Security and with the Department of Education and Science. The latter Department warned of the dangers of "solvent sniffing" in the pamphlet "Drugs and the Schools" issued in 1972.
