asked the Prime Minister when he next intends to take the chair at a meeting of the NEDC.

My right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer is chairman of the council. While I am always ready to consider taking the chair myself, and did so at the meeting on 3rd July, I have no plans to do so in the immediate future.
