§ Mr. John Evansasked the Attorney-General how many prisoners, sentenced to imprisonment at the Crown court, who are awaiting hearings of appeal or have made applications for leave to appeal have served longer than six months.
The Attorney-GeneralOn 16th July 1974 there were 77 custodial cases awaiting hearings at the Court of Appeal where the papers were lodged at the Criminal Appeal Office before 16th January 1974. In addition to appeals and applications for leave to appeal this includes renewed applications to the full court where the initial application has already been rejected by a single judge.
