HC Deb 17 July 1974 vol 877 c160W
Mr. Reid

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science how many graduates from Scottish universities in 1973 are still unemployed.

Mr. Gerry Fowler

According to figures supplied by the University Grants Committee 196 students who obtained first degrees from universities in Scotland in 1972–73 were believed to be unemployed when last contacted between graduation and December 1973. In addition there were 153 in temporary employment while awaiting permanent employment or further study. I regret that we have no more recent figures.
