HC Deb 17 July 1974 vol 877 c201W
Mr. Ronald Atkins

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what information he considers relevant in the planning of new towns; and whether this includes the conservation of natural resources as expressed by bodies concerned with this matter.

Mr. Oakes

The whole range of relevant information would vary from site to site, but the effect on resources would certainly be among the items to be considered. Ample opportunity is given at the outline planning stage for interested bodies to make their views known.
