HC Deb 17 July 1974 vol 877 c161W
Mr. Reid

asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many households there are in Scotland whose annual income is less than three-quarters of the average annual household income for the United Kingdom.

Mr. Booth

An estimate of numbers of households in Scotland with a specified range of annual income is not available. The latest available information is from the Family Expenditure Survey for 1972 from which it is estimated that 43 per cent. of households in Scotland had weekly income less than three-quarters of the average weekly household income in the United Kingdom.
