asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what plans she has to improve the terms and benefits of pensions for war widows.

Mr. Robert C. Brown

From 22nd July war widows will benefit from the largest ever pension increase; and we are doubling the age allowances, which will be of particular help to elderly war widows. For the future, the Government are firmly committed to an annual review of pensions, based for the first time on movements in the national average earnings.
