§ Mr. Wigleyasked the Secretary of State for Wales what is the latest available estimate of the average personal wealth per capita in Wales; and what proportion this represents of the average personal wealth per capita of Great Britain.
§ Mr. John MorrisThe latest estimate was made in "Personal Wealth and Finance in Wales" which was commissioned by the Welsh Office, a copy of which is in the Library. This estimated that in 1970 the net worth—assets less liabilities—per head of the population aged 15 and over in Wales was £2,379, which represented 72 per cent. of the estimate for the United Kingdom as a whole.
