HC Deb 16 July 1974 vol 877 c91W
Mr. Ralph Howell

asked the Secretary of State for Employment, in view of the fact that many famly men are now better off financially when unemployed for several weeks than when at work, if he will take action to ensure maximum possible speed of turnover among the unemployed, in the event of an increase in unemployment next autumn.

Mr. John Fraser

The Employment Service at all times makes every effort to place workers as speedily as possible in their own interest and in that of the nation.
