HC Deb 16 July 1974 vol 877 cc130-2W
Mr. Corrie

asked the Chairman of the Select Committee on House of Commons (Services) why it has been decided to buy European butter for the Refreshment Department; and if he will make it his policy to prefer British butter.

Mr. Dunn

I have been asked to reply.

Provisional upon quality and price, The economic position of the Refresh-English butter is preferred. However, presently, prices for butter pats are:

Imported Butter 1 case with 500 portions £3.40.

Adams British Butter 1 case with 400 portions £5.98.

The economic position of the Refreshment Department commands acceptance of the lowest tender.
