§ Dr. Phippsasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if she is satisfied with the use of X-rays in determining dust levels in cases of pneumoconiosis.
§ Mr. O'MalleyThe dust radiograph plays a very important and effective part in the diagnosis of pneumoconiosis when, as is the practice in dealing with claims for benefit under the Industrial Injuries Act, the internationally agreed standards of radiological classification of the pneumoconioses are used and radiographic techniques are maintained at a high standard. The degree of disablement is assessed only after a full clinical examination including lung function tests.
