HC Deb 15 July 1974 vol 877 c49W
Mr. Robin F. Cook

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what arrangements he is making for changing the representation of local authorities on boards of management of central institutes and colleges of education following local government reorganisation.

Mr. William Ross

I shall be consulting the interested parties with a view to making regulations amending the representations of local authorities on the governing bodies of colleges of education and central institutions other than those central institutions administered under the provisions of endowment schemes. In the case of the latter the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 provides for the transfer to appropriate new local authorities of the functions vested in existing local authorities by the relevant endowment schemes.
