Mr. Adam Butler

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment when he expects the "once for all" fee for driving licences to be introduced; and if he will confirm that those who for medical reasons have to renew them periodically will be covered by that fee and will not have to meet any additional charge.

The date will depend on progress on the Road Traffic Bill but I hope it may be early 1976. The answer to the second part of the Question is "Yes".
