§ Mr. Trotterasked the Secretary of State for Industry on what date he or repre 16W sentatives of his Department first discussed with representatives of the TUC the action to be taken by his Department concerning Court Line.
§ Mr. Bruce-Gardyneasked the Secretary of State for Industry whether, in view of the fact that negotiations were proceeding between Court Line Ltd. and potential purchasers for the acquisition of the shipbuilding activities of that company as going concerns, he will set out in the OFFICIAL REPORT the considerations which led him to conclude that time did not permit him to consult with the Industrial Development Advisory Board before agreeing in principle to acquire the assets of Court Shipbuilding Ltd. under the terms of Section 7 of the Industry Act, as laid down in Section 9 of that Act.
§ Mr. BennNone of the negotiations in progress could have been completed in the short time available, which precluded even consultation with the Industrial Development Advisory Board.
