§ Mr. DeakinsThe purpose of the annual inquiry into the catering trades is to collect information for inclusion in the capital expenditure and stocks estimates in the national income accounts. About 6,000 organisations were approached in the 1973 inquiry, including all the large organisations and a sample of the smaller ones.
