HC Deb 12 July 1974 vol 876 c597W
Mr. Kilfedder

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland (1) what is the estimated outflow of profit from Northern Ireland earned by companies in Northern Ireland which are or have been assisted by the Northern Ireland Finance Corporation or the Northern Ireland Government, and whose headquarters are not in the Province; how much of those profits have gone to Great Britain; and how much to foreign countries, including Eire;

(2) whether he will institute an inquiry to ascertain how much of the profits made by the companies operating in Northern Ireland are removed from the Province and go to Great Britain or to foreign countries, including Eire.

Mr. Merlyn Rees

As there are no reliable estimates available my Department has started some research into these matters. It may not be possible, how-over, to produce precise figures.
