HC Deb 11 July 1974 vol 876 c571W
Mr. Bryant Godman Irvine

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services why the benefit which a woman receives for each year she works beyond her retirement age is to be withdrawn when the increased pension is paid.

Mr. Robert C. Brown

I assume that the hon. Member is referring to extra flat-rate and extra graduated pension which can be earned by the deferment of retirement and the payment of contributions after minimum pension age. These arrangements will not be withdrawn when the flat-rate pensions are increased later this month.
