HC Deb 11 July 1974 vol 876 cc569-70W
Mr. Leslie Huckfield

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how the number of permanently and substantially handicapped people identified in the period 1st October 1971 to 31st March 1974 in Warwickshire compares per 1,000 population in numbers with those identified in the city of Manchester and with the national average.

Mr. Alfred Morris

Information covering the period specified is not available. During the 12 months ending 31st March 1973 the numbers of persons added to the register of the general classes expressed as a rate per thousand of the estimated home population were England 2.5, Manchester 8.9 and Warwickshire 2.5. I expect to be able to publish the figures relating to the year ending 31st March 1974 in the autumn.
